Fog first, then late-October warmup before Halloween in Metro Detroit
October is preparing to end on an unusually warm note in Metro Detroit, but before the temperatures climb, some drivers may have to deal with fog again. Fog could develop overnight into Wednesday, particularly around Ann Arbor, Metro Detroit, and the northern suburbs, potentially leading to a significant warmup in temperatures. Temperatures in Metro Detroit are expected to reach highs in the lower 70s, about 15 degrees above Detroit’s normal high of 57 degrees for Oct. 28. Temperations will peak in the mid-70s, which is expected to fall below Detroit‘s Oct. 29 record high of 79 degrees. A cold front could bring a few light showers Thursday afternoon or evening, but wind gusts of 25-30 mph are possible. The Detroit Pistons host the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday evening, and weather should cooperate for fans heading downtown. However, temperatures will fall into the mid 50s by the end of the game.
