Wayne County Nutrition Center Plans Veterans Day Program Wit...
Wayne County Nutrition Center announced a Nov. 4 thrift-store fundraiser, a Nov. 6 Veterans Day program and a Nov. 14 hunters luncheon. Wayne County Nutrition Center is planning a Veterans Day program for seniors. The Center's monthly Board Meeting was postponed due to staff member, Jeffery Allen's father's funeral on the same day. The East Wayne County Chamber of Commerce meeting was held on October 22, where the guest speaker highlighted the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) grant and provided an overview of the Center's services and meals delivered each month. The Board Meeting also addressed concerns about outside sources for funding. The organization's mission is to feed the county's seniors and keep them healthy and in their homes for as long as possible. St. Catherine Outreach Center in Piedmont sends a check each month in support of the Nutrition Center. November 4 will be "Support the Wayne County Nutrition Centre Day" at the East Wayne county Chamber Thrift Store, northtown Greenville, where proceeds of sales will benefit the Nutrition Centre.
