2 arrested after stealing over $25K of merchandise from Warren jewelry store

The incident occurred on March 28 at 11:58 a.m. and staff reported that a man and woman had stolen the merchandise from the store, posing as potential customers. Warren Patrol Officers gathered information on the suspects and their vehicle descriptions before spotting them on the interstate. They identified them and recovered all of the stolen jewelry and a large amount of cash. The suspects were taken to the Warren Police Department jail for a follow-up investigation.

WARREN, Mich. – Two people were arrested after stealing from a jewelry store in Warren. Officials say they recovered more than $25,000 worth of merchandise.

The incident occurred on Thursday (March 28) at 11:58 a.m. in the area of 13 Mile and Hoover roads.

Officials say staff called 911 and said that a man and a woman had just stolen the $25,000 plus worth of jewelry from the store after acting as potential customers.

Warren Patrol Officers arrived and began gathering information on the alleged thieves and their vehicle descriptions, which were broadcast to other Warren officers and officers from surrounding jurisdictions.

The alleged suspects and their vehicle were spotted by the Hazel Park Police Department traveling southbound on I-75 towards Detroit.

Hazel Park police said they affected a traffic stop on the alleged suspect’s vehicle and contacted the occupants.

Officials said they were able to identify the suspects and their vehicle, and they located and recovered all of the stolen jewelry as well as a large amount of cash.

The man and woman were arrested and taken to the Warren Police Department jail for a follow-up.
