Paul Reed gives Pistons hope and heat in Jalen Duren's absence
Pistons fans can take comfort in the fact that they have an able deputy on the roster in Paul Reed, who was Detroit's best player in an important early-season matchup with the defending NBA champions. The Detroit Pistons' star center, Jalen Duren, is set to miss about two weeks of action due to a hamstring strain. However, Paul Reed, who was Detroit's best player in an early-season game against the New York Knicks, stepped in to fill the void. Reed led the scoring with 22 points in 26 minutes, outperforming his previous two games against the struggling Indiana Pacers and Chicago Bulls. The Pistons lost to the New Knicks 111-97, marking New York's first win of the 2026-27 season and Detroit's first loss of the season.
