Born in Alpena, she was the daughter of Fred and Violet (Smeader) Hiser and a member of New Haven United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sons, Randall (Judy), and William Ray, brother Richard (Linda) Hisher, grandchildren, step-granddaughter Kelley (Eddie) Konrad, great-grandchildren, Layla, Halley, and Lana; and step-great-grandson McKenna and Brynn. Funeral service will be held at Harper’s Community Funeral Home on Friday, April 5, 2024, with visitation one hour prior.

Sally Jean Ray, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away on March 28, 2024, at The Waters, Fort Wayne. Born in Alpena, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Violet (Smeader) Hiser. She was a member of New Haven United Methodist Church. She enjoyed “jitterbugging” to 50s music and watching tennis and figure skating. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events and plays.

She is survived by her sons, James, Randall (Judy), and William Ray; brother, Richard (Linda) Hiser of Alpena, MI; grandchildren, Rachael Rowe, Casey, Kyle (Lauren Hendricks), Ashlyn, and Braeden Ray; step-granddaughter, Kelley (Eddie) Konrad; great-grandchildren, Layla, Halley, and Lana; and step-great-grandchildren, McKenna and Brynn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dennis, of 44 years in 2003; and siblings, James Hiser and Marvis Moskanas.

Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to New Haven United Methodist Church.
