A Detroit Tigers Prospect Named Player of the Week
The Detroit Tigers minor league affiliates last week combined to go 12-12 and were outscored by a combined 110-103. The Triple-A affiliate, the Toledo Mud Hens went 3-3 and were outscored 34-32. Detroit Tigers prospect, Holton Holton, was drafted by the Tigers in the tenth round of the 2019 MLB Draft out of Creighton University. Holton had a successful season at Creighton, scoring 15 doubles, two triples, 14 home runs, 58 RBI, 55 runs scored, and 32 walks. After being drafted, he made his debut at Low-A Connecticut and played at Single-A Lakeland and High-A West Michigan in 2021 and 2022 respectively. He hit a combined score of 55 runs, one stolen base, and 41 walks. Last season, he played at Erie playing in 111 games and hit.245 with a.779 OPS.

Holton was drafted by the Tigers in the tenth round of the 2019 MLB Draft out of Creighton University. In his lone season at Creighton in 2019 he played in 54 games hitting .387 with a 1.170 OPS; he had 15 doubles, two triples, 14 home runs, 58 RBI, 55 runs scored, one stolen base, and 32 walks. After being drafted he made his debut at Low-A Connecticut playing in 57 games he hit .222 with a .661 OPS; he had seven doubles, one home run, 17 RBI, 30 runs scored, one stolen base, and 40 walks. He didn’t play in 2020 due to the minor league season being canceled due to COVID. In 2021 he played at Single-A Lakeland and High-A West Michigan playing in 75 games combined hitting .280 with a .870 OPS; he had 16 doubles, four triples, eight home runs, 45 RBI, 40 runs scored, one stolen base, and 41 walks. In 2022 he played at High-A West Michigan and Double-A Erie playing in 116 games he hit .260 with a .810 OPS; he had 19 doubles, three triples, 13 home runs, 69 RBI, 70 runs scored, five stolen bases, and 72 walks. Last season he played at Erie playing in 111 games hitting .245 with a .779 OPS; he had 13 doubles, two triples, 14 home runs, 47 RBI, 60 runs scored, and 68 walks.
