S&P 500 records best first quarter since 2019 going into Easter break

The S&P 500 and the Dow closed at fresh records in New York on Thursday, with the former closing out its best start to the year since the Covid-19 pandemic A Republican state lawmaker in Michigan, Matt Maddock, has claimed that buses at a Detroit airport carrying college basketball players were transporting undocumented immigrants into the city. The Wayne County Airport Authority confirmed that four college basketball teams were arriving that night and the buses were carrying "illegal immigrants" as they were off of a plane. Maddock is among the most conservative members in the Michigan Legislature and his wife is one of 15 Republicans charged with impersonating fake electors for then-President Donald Trump in 2020.

A Republican state lawmaker in Michigan made claims on social media Wednesday that buses at a Detroit airport carrying college basketball players were shuttling undocumented immigrants into the city. Michigan state House Rep. Matt Maddock said the buses were carrying “illegal invaders” getting off of a plane. The Wayne County Airport Authority said in a statement four college basketball teams were arriving that night at the airport and the buses were carrying “the basketball teams and their respective staffs.” Maddock is among the most conservative members in the Michigan Legislature. His wife is one of 15 Republicans charged for acting as fake electors for then-President Donald Trump in 2020.
