The Ann Arbor Film Festival, known as the oldest independent experimental film festival in North America, will offer in-person activities until March 31 and online screenings until April 7. The Detroit Parks & Recreation Department's free event, Bunny Land, will feature carnival rides, a high velocity slide, face painting, DJs, a health fair, inflatables, giveaways, food trucks and more. The festival will also showcase local talent in various styles and raise funds for Michigan United Cerebral Palsy.

Get ready for an exciting holiday weekend in metro Detroit with local Easter egg hunts, a vibrant Corktown music festival featuring more than 70 bands, a big top circus, the acclaimed Ann Arbor Film Festival and an event to prepare for the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8.

Here are five things to do for the weekend of March 29-31.

This free event hosted by the Detroit Parks & Recreation Department will have carnival rides, a big top circus, a high velocity slide, face painting, DJs, community resources, a health fair, inflatables, giveaways, food trucks and more.

Plus, don’t miss Bunny Land, where there will be an Easter bunny, petting zoo, pony rides, Easter egg hunt, egg race and potato sack race.

This three-day festival will showcase local talent in a wide range of styles from punk to folk to rock and a splash of country from 78 bands playing in four venues over three days.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to Michigan United Cerebral Palsy.

The festival starts at 7 p.m. each night, Thursday through Saturday. Single day tickets are $15; weekend wristbands are $20.

This family-friendly “egg-stravaganza” at the Detroit Zoo, presented by Meijer will feature a 24 “carrot” Golden egg hunt, whisker painting, live entertainment, a Zoo Tales Story Trail, photos with the Easter Bunny and more.

10 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Detroit Zoo, 8450 W. 10 Mile in Royal Oak. Bunnyville is free for member and included with Detroit Zoo admission.

Recognized as the oldest independent experimental film festival in North America, this hybrid event offers a blend of in-person activities until March 31 and online screenings until April 7.

Spanning six days, the festival boasts 40 programs with more than 180 films from over 20 countries across various genres, including experimental, animation, documentary, fiction and performance-based works.
